Employee Loyalty Drives Growth at Marlette Holdings

For the fifth consecutive year, Marlette Holdings has been named one of Delaware’s Best Workplaces.

Marlette Holdings, known to customers as Best Egg Personal Loans, is a fintech company that aims to empower customers with their day-to-day finances. The company’s goal is to make money quickly available to its customers so they can enjoy life.

The platform has grown exponentially, having provided over $16 billion in personal loans with strong credit performance to customers since March 2014.

Last year saw record growth for Best Egg, facilitating 437,000 new accounts, $4.6 billion in personal loans and hiring more than 200 employees.

According to the Best Egg website, in August 2021 the platform was operating with a 95% customer satisfaction rating and received an A+ rating by the Better Business Bureau.

Marlette Holdings and Best Egg have continually taken steps to expand their customer base and accelerate their growth. Last March, the company raised $225 million in Series E funding and in May announced a collaboration with lending agency BancAlliance to launch a new Best Egg loan buying program with more than 300 community banks.

Along with customer satisfaction and impressive performance, Marlette Holdings has also fostered a nurturing environment for its employees, earning it first place in the large company category in News Journal’s Best Workplaces for 2022.

In the wake of the pandemic, Best Egg made sure to encourage a flexible approach by allowing employees to use the office or work remotely at their own discretion.

“I’m challenged but supported,” one employee said. “Everyone I have interacted with at this company has been incredibly warm and welcoming. I work on innovative projects that allow me to learn new skills. I feel like my time and work are respected.

Led by CEO Jeffrey Meiler, winner of this year’s Big Business Leadership Award, employees rave about the interpersonal dynamics among Marlette employees via anonymous online surveys.

“Managers and co-workers really listen,” one employee said. “We are all here to help each other succeed. Being part of a company that has values that it truly respects is refreshing.

“It’s an incredible honor to be recognized as one of the best places to work in Delaware for the fifth year in a row,” Meiler said. “We have grown a lot in recent years, including adding hundreds of new employees. It is gratifying to know that even with this growth, we consistently maintain a culture where employees enjoy what they do and take pride in where they work.
